My very first aircraft kit after I started dabbling with wing things again, that poor fellow sat on the shelf of doom for three years. Paintwork so-so, decals silvering, small parts missing… it deserved better than that!
After stripping off the old paint and fixing what was broken, on came the Gunze acrylics and some very nice Techmod decals. Still not sure if the greyish blue upper color is correct (well, at least for the later “standardized” color it definitely is not), but I go with the excuse that the people aboard the aircraft carrier just grabbed what was at hand.
